You can expect to earn anything between £30,000-£47,000 per annum depending on experience in a social housing role. 

There are a variety of tasks you’d undertake in a social housing role. This includes: 

  • Assessing the needs of applicants 
  • Allocating empty houses 
  • Regular inspections  
  • Dealing with payments  
  • Resolve anti-social behaviours 
  • Attend tenant's meetings 
  • Prepare reports  

It’s quite a demanding role, so certain skill sets will suit this role more. For example, negotiating, time management, relationship management, empathy, problem-solving and great communication.  

There are no formal qualifications needed to do this role. However, some will ask for the following: 

  • SCQF Levels 4-6 
  • Modern Apprenticeship in Housing  
  • A Chartered Institute of Housing Certificate or Diploma
