An auditor’s salary will vary by role and location. Newly qualified auditors can earn from £45,000-£55,000 a year, while audit managers can take home up to £80,000.

One of the main skills you need to be an external auditor is impeccable project management skills, as you will have many deadlines. Critical thinking skills are also needed to review evidence and make highly-informed judgement calls.
