The tasks of designers will depend on the job profile, along with the organisation they work for. Generally, their remit involves the realisation of design concepts according to defined functionality, usability and user-friendliness standards.
In addition, designers often coordinate sub-steps and individual processes and supervise both the creation of prototypes and the development of concept studies. It may also be necessary to communicate with other departments and managers, along with external stakeholders.
Designers often have a university degree in a relevant course, such as product design, fashion design or communication design. Alternatively, you may have completed an apprenticeship in the media, print or web design area. You should also have a good eye for detail and composition, as well as for the needs of the market you work in.
In addition to technical expertise, you should possess certain soft skills, such as good communication and persuasive power, a high level of flexibility and strong organisation.
