Completing a bachelor’s degree in a related science field is the most common way of becoming qualified. Apprenticeships are also an option that combine classroom learning with hands on practical training. These tend to be shorter than degrees and allow you to go straight into work or study further. There are pros and cons to both. Contractors have the potential to earn more money than permanent staff due to typically being paid on a day-rate basis.
