Biometrics salaries can be extremely lucrative – although the exact amount you earn will depend on your experience, expertise and location. 

As an SAS programmer invested in biostatistics, you could expect to earn £35,000 a year, rising to £60,000 with the right seniority. On the executive end, senior directors of programming can earn in the region of £100,000, while a vice president or global head could receive £160,000 for their efforts. 

A biostatistician could earn £30,000-£40,000, with executive statisticians commanding six-figure salaries. 

Bioinformaticians are also very well renumerated, with salaries ranging from £51,000 as a machine learning scientist, to £210,000 as an organisation’s CTO. 

Epidemiologists can typically expect to earn £40,000-£50,000, with high-profile executive roles able to reach £200,000.
