Fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join a leading manufacturing company

Your new company

A highly successful manufacturing company is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Procurement Manager to join their team.

Your new role

The Procurement Manager is a pivotal role in the business, and you will be responsible for developing a best-in-class procurement function, sourcing sustainable, cost-effective raw materials from international markets for the company’s four sites in the UK and Ireland, including its headquarters in Larne.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a raw materials sourcing strategy aligned to the business strategy.
  • Identify risks in continuity of supply and market volatility and put in place appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Develop a centralised procurement function for selected departmental overhead spend to drive synergies, quality and reduce costs.
  • Develop a reliable, cost-effective framework of hauliers operating in the UK and Ireland wide.
  • Responsible for the company’s approved list of leased vehicles and cost-effective fuel sourcing options.
  • Support the delivery of the company’s energy objectives.
  • Enhance systems and processes to advance the company’s MRP automation.
  • Deliver timely and evidence-based information to guide and support the right business decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the company's strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams across site materials planning, inventory, and logistics to achieve customer service levels and OTIF targets.
  • Support the company and internal stakeholders in delivering high quality capital expenditure solutions.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Education: Demonstrable continuous improvement skills/credentials using recognised frameworks for process improvement. Graduate with CIPS/MCIPS qualifications is desirable.

  • Experience: Experience of managing incoming supply chains for a manufacturing environment using international procurement markets. Demonstrable experience of overseeing and processing MRP. Experience in Microsoft Navision / Business Central and strong Excel skills are desirable.

  • Skills and Competences: Strong leadership skills, ability to work at a strategic and operational level, strategic and pragmatic decision-making, strong customer focus, commercially and financially astute, proven ability to communicate and present solutions at a senior management and board level, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong eye for detail, strong influencing skills, computer-literate with all Microsoft Office packages.

  • Circumstances: Able to work flexible hours as required and to travel as required to ensure business needs are met. Able to work away from home if required. Possess a full current driving licence.
