Full-time Payroll Administrators in North Birmingham for a Local Authority, hybrid working

Your new company

Due to the partnership between Hays and Sandwell Council, we are looking for experienced Payroll Administrators on a temporary basis. You will work within Sandwell Council, the third largest metropolitan borough in the West Midlands.

Your new role

You will work within a diligent and industrious team, providing payroll, pensions, reconciliation, and systems services to Sandwell Council. The team’s objective is to pay staff on the various monthly/weekly payrolls accurately and on time, in line with contractual and statutory obligations to predefined timetables. You will work flexibly within the team to support with payroll activities for staff members within Sandwell Council and external clients. You will carry out payroll input and solve payroll errors and conduct analysis of payslips.

This is a full-time position, offering a hybrid working pattern in which you will work in the office a minimum 2 days per week, however they would require flexibility as there are some cases the team will be needed in the office on more days.

Having good administration and customer service skills, being well-organised and the ability to work independently with good attention to detail, are all essential requirements for this role. Essential requirements would be experience with Microsoft products, Oracle E Business suites and Oracle Cloud Fusion.

Handling enquiries from a range of audiences, as well as organising and maintaining accurate records using ICT systems including Microsoft Office and Oracle Applications.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate should have experience with Oracle Fusion, SBS and Payroll. Successful candidates will also have good attention to detail and strong customer service skills.

We also require employment references from the last 12 months to complete registration and to process your application to the next stage.

This is a full-time temporary assignment until the end of May 2024 and with potential to be extended. Hybrid working is available with 2 days in the office in Oldbury. In this job, you will receive a competitive hourly rate which is paid weekly to you.
