This logistics company provides logistics services including road and rail transport, warehousing, and terminal management across Scotland and has been established for a number of years and works with some very prestigious clients in the industry. The Company provides integrated third-party logistics solutions including bonded and non-bonded warehousing and supply chain management to a number of blue-chip customers across Scotland and England.


Your new role

This role is ideally suited to an individual with a keen interest in transport and distribution who can demonstrate a proven record of effective and efficient transport planning within a national busy fleet operation. As a planner, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive first class service while maintaining cost effectiveness. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of our national fleet, making a real impact every day. Providing quick and efficient service to their customers across the business. Oversee day to day fleet planning and prioritising workload and plan routes for our three biggest customers. Daily driver brief and de-brief and track tachographs to maintain safety and regulatory standards. Liaising with sub-contractors, suppliers, and internal departments to streamline operations.

What you'll need to succeed

A g ood geographical knowledge of the UK with knowledge and understanding of Driver’s Working Time Regulations and Driver’s CPC legislation. An effective team player with excellent organisational skills. Good IT skills and exposure to route planning software or equivalent. Transport related experience preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear understanding of the priorities of organising and running commercial traffic, a keen eye for detail and accuracy, the ability to learn quickly, professional confidence and clear communication skills, together with a familiarity of common computer packages, i.e. Microsoft Office or equivalent. Previous experience with Road Runner or similar route planning software is preferable.

A competitive salary dependent upon experience is offered. This is a Monday - Friday position where you will work 1 week, 0530-1430 and 1 week, 0930-1830. Reasonable flexibility is expected in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak operational periods.
