Your new company

Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Warrington-based mainstream primary school as they are looking to recruit a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support the KS1 and lower KS2 classes. This is a full-time temporary contract that will last the remainder of the academic year.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will work alongside class teachers to offer a stimulating, engaging and inclusive learning environment for all pupils by building strong constructive relationships and utilising an array of learning equipment. You will be based in KS1 (key stage 1) supporting small groups of pupils and delivering phonics sessions and assessments. You will liaise with the class teachers on their progress, ensuring that all sessions are inline with their attainment needs, and use SALT and "Letters and Sounds" with lower and mixed ability pupils, ensuring that all reach their full academic potential. You will also be required to support lower KS2 with interventions and boosters on an irregular basis.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting pupils aged between 4 - 11 in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Have experience with Phonics (RWI or Jolly Phonics)
  • Have experience delivering interventions
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential

What you'll get in return

If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of benefits, which include:

  • Free training
  • Upfront cost of DBS covered
  • Long-term contract
  • Competitive rate of pay
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Company pension scheme
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
  • Refer a Friend scheme
