Hays have an opportunity to join Ards & North Down Borough Council Community Summer Schemes.

Your new company

Hays are working with Ards and North Down Borough Council to recruit for their community Summer Schemes.

The summer scheme is offered to primary age children to develop soft skills through exploration, trying new things and the development of memory and creativity through play.


Your new role

Reporting to the Community Development Officer, as a Summer Scheme worker you will assist in the running of Summer Scheme sessions in accordance with the planned programme, supervising a small group activity satisfactorily.

Activities also include setting out and putting away equipment and resetting the equipment during the session for new activities as well as any other duties required of the post.

You will play a vital part of the team and participate in team meetings / training sessions, comply with and promote equality, safeguarding and health and safety in accordance with Council policies and legal requirements.


What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this position, you will be a motivational, committed team worker who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and has a sensitivity to the differing requirements of individuals and groups.

You will have a minimum of 6 months experience of working with children in pre-school, young people, special needs, children and parents or arts and crafts.

You will have knowledge of child protection / vulnerable adult issues, be a team player and have a sensitivity to the differing requirements of individuals and groups.

Awareness of Health and Safety and knowledge of child protection / vulnerable adults’ issues would be advantageous.


What you'll get in return

- £12.63 per hour
- 30 hours per week (9.30am until 3.30pm)
- 4 week duration + training (16th July – 15th August)
