Software Developer - Digital Solutions Development Team
Job Purpose
To assist with the implementation of the DDat Strategy and lead staff to ensure delivery of the annual business plan including the day-to-day architecting, analysis, design and development of high quality software including support and maintenance.Job Title: Senior Developer
Department: DDat - ICT
Responsible to: Lead Developer
Salary: Up to £45,000
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To co-ordinate the day to day running of the team to ensure work is apportioned and delivered on time
To act as a support element for the other members of the development team
To work closely with the lead developer in relation to sprint planning
To develop new systems in accordance with the specification to create high level products
To assist other staff to deal with software problems and prepare software revisions when system changes or improvements are required
To liaise with external agencies and organisations where required in order to carry out the above duties
To assist with the technical guidance and mentoring of development staff
To keep up to date with new technologies by attending relevant training courses and putting new knowledge and skills into practice in the workplace
A relevant degree or equivalent industry recognised qualification
At least 3 years of professional experience across a variety of software applications.
At least 2 years previous technical experience in a client server environment, preferably using Microsoft technologies and experience of using Visual Studio and source control software
Enhanced literacy skills, e.g. composing original letters, statements or writing minutes
Able to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines
Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
To possess a full, current driving licence, or acces to a means of mobility support
