International engineering company looking for a service engineer - UK and International

Job Title: Electrical Service Technician
Responsibilities:
  1. Reporting Structure:
    Directly accountable to the Service Manager.
  2. Inspections and Diagnostics:
    Conduct inspections of LV (Low Voltage) switchboards, diagnose faults, and promptly submit detailed reports.
  3. Repairs and Modifications:
    Perform repairs and modifications as needed, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.
  4. Maintenance:
    Carry out routine maintenance on LV switchboards and circuit breakers, both in marine and industrial settings.
  5. Technical Communication:
    Interpret and address technical enquiries from customers, providing clear and accurate information.
  6. Customer Relations:
    Maintain positive relationships with customers through effective verbal and written communication.
  7. Risk Assessment and Documentation:
    Compile risk assessments and method statements for various tasks.
  8. Site Surveys and Meetings:
    Conduct site surveys and attend meetings as required, collaborating with colleagues and clients.
  9. Department Efficiency:
    Demonstrate a proactive attitude and professional demeanour to enhance departmental efficiency.
  10. Collaboration:
    Collaborate with service staff and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  11. Data Management:
    Collect and update customer information in the service department databases.
  12. Global Operations:
    Be prepared to work within the UK and overseas, including potentially unsociable hours.
  13. Reports:
    Responsible for generating accurate test reports and site-specific documentation.
  14. Availability:
    Maintain availability for contact from home during out-of-hours situations.
PRINCIPAL SKILLS

  1. HNC Electrical Engineering
  2. Electrical, Electronic & Mechanical knowledge.
  3. Knowledge of Control and System products for Electrical Energy Distribution. (Marine biases would be advantageous)
  4. Good Verbal Communication –Customer contact
  5. Knowledge of fault-finding procedures
  6. Wiring diagram interpretation and wiring skills.
  7. Report Writing Skills
  8. Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
