Your new company
Hays Technology are recruiting a Service Designer on a permanent basis to join a growing public sector organisation. You will be reporting to the IT Programme Manager and joining during a period or large-scale transformation.

Your new role
In your new role, you will be overseeing end-to-end service design projects, identifying emerging trends, data-driven improvements opportunities, and end-user needs to shape innovative services that deliver both business impact and end-user value. You will be championing user-centric design through conducting workshops to understand end-user behaviours and creating solutions to align with strategic objectives.

You will be designing, testing, and iterating prototypes, using measurable outcomes to validate hypotheses and inform future decisions, whilst working closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, developers, and operations, to co-create propositions that balance desirability, operational feasibility, and business viability.

What you’ll need to succeed
  • A strong portfolio of IT service design deliverables to showcase your work
  • Experience in working on complex, end-to-end service design initiatives, from research and strategy to implementation
  • Ability to clearly articulate design concepts, strategies, and decisions to diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders
  • Proficiency in service design methods, including user research, journey mapping, service blueprints, prototyping, and workshop facilitation
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to synthesise content into concise summaries
  • This post requires a DBS check

What you’ll get in return
