Reporting to: Head of Corporate Finance

Team Collaboration: Works closely with the City Council’s financial accounts team

Key Focus: Delivering robust financial reporting across multiple business areas, ensuring efficient period-end processes

Management Role: Member of the trading company management team, providing comprehensive financial support

Foster strong working relationships across corporate and operational finance teams

Maintain and enhance financial controls and systems to ensure compliance and transparency

Support the Head of Corporate Finance in preparing management accounts, trend analysis, and performance reports

Assist with cross-service tender opportunities and business planning

Provide accurate financial data to track progress against the trading company’s business objectives

Liaise with tax advisors and oversee budgeting and forecasting for the trading company

Ensure correct allocation of overhead costs and manage intercompany transactions

Implement and monitor a consistent framework of corporate internal controls

Contribute to strategic decision-making with the Chief Commercial Officer

Oversee financial reporting and ensure timely and accurate monitoring

Drive continuous improvement through performance data analysis

Protect financial records in line with UK Data Protection legislation

Qualification: Professional accountancy qualification

Experience: Minimum of one year post-qualification experience in corporate financial reporting

Skills: Strong budget management, cost analysis, and financial forecasting abilities

Technical Proficiency: Advanced spreadsheet skills
