Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with diverse needs? Hays Education are working closely with an SEN school in Leek who are seeking dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistants to provide ad hoc support. We have both short-term and long-term supply positions available.
Position Details:
- Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Contract Type: Temporary (Short-Term/Long-Term Supply)
- Salary: £85 - £100 per day
- Working Hours: 08:30 AM - 03:30 PM, Monday to Friday
- Location: Leek
About the School:
A primary generic Special School that caters to children aged 4 to 11 with a range of needs. The schools specialise in working with children who have moderate to severe learning difficulties, including those with communication challenges, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities: As a Teaching Assistant in a Special School, you will:
- Motivate and Inspire: Create engaging and practical lessons that make learning fun.
- Adapt Teaching Styles: Tailor your teaching approach to meet the needs of primary-aged children.
- Collaborate: Work closely with other staff members, including teachers and teaching assistants.
- Support Learning: Assist pupils in various classroom settings, both individually and in groups.
- Create a Positive Environment: Organise and manage learning resources effectively.
- Build Relationships: Establish constructive connections with parents/carers to support attendance and learning.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
- Nurturing and caring approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
