Your new company

Our client are an exciting and innovative biotech based in Southampton who are disrupting the field in small molecule therapies. After funding, they are looking to expand and are currently looking for Scientists with experience in Cell Biology and Molecular Biology.


Your new role

As a Cell Biologist your responsibilities will include:

• Culturing and maintenance of mammalian cell lines in either 2D or 3D
• Develop cell-based assays for screening new molecules.
• Assess new molecules in a range of assays to determine molecular and functional endpoints.
• Conduct cell-based research to support validation of new drug targets.

As a Molecular Biologist your responsibilities will include:

• Conduct molecular biology research to enable the identification and validation of new drug targets.
• Implement a range of molecular biology techniques to generate DNA-encoded libraries.
• Help design and develop novel high-throughput screening platforms and workflows.


What you'll need to succeed

Cell Biologist:

• PhD or Masters/Bachelors qualified in a Life Science subject such as Molecular Biology or Biochemistry (Masters/Bachelors qualified applicants must have significant lab experience)
• Expertise in cell biology techniques such as cell culture, assays, western blotting, qPCR and microscopy.
• Experience in FACS or Flow Cytometry is preferred.


Molecular Biologist:

• PhD or Masters/Bachelors in a Life Science subject such as Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field (Masters/Bachelors qualified applicants must have significant lab experience).
• Expertise in molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, vector design and construction.
• Experience in Next-Generation sequencing (NGS), including the preparation of samples and the analysis of large data sets, as well as familiarity with ONT or Illumina technologies is preferred.
