Hays are working with an over-subscribed secondary school in the Wirral to find a Science teacher for September 2025. This is a vibrant school who prioritise staff wellbeing. This is a temporary science teacher job with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate. The leadership team have a clear vision for the school and communicate it very well to create an inclusive ethos and a strong community feeling.

Starting in September, you will be a key part of the dedicated Science department, including full teaching responsibilities such as:
Teach KS3 – KS4
Nurture a range of learning abilities
Staff meetings
Parents evenings
Pastoral responsibilities,
Planning and preparation of lessons
Marking and assessment.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECTs are welcome to apply.
Bachelor's degree in science or related field
Recent experience teaching Science at secondary school level.
Strong behaviour/classroom management.
Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid to scale (*up to MPS6) to ensure you are being treated as per their permanent staff members, due to the expectations being the same. You will be working for a school which prides itself on having a solid SLT structure and doing everything possible to create a good working ethos amongst pupils and staff.
