Hays Education are looking for a Secondary School Science Teacher to start in September.

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Science teacher to work in an amazing secondary school in Bath.

Science Teacher:

  • To start ASAP
  • Day to day/ongoing work
  • Teaching Science at KS3 and KS4
  • Bath-based Secondary School

You must have relevant experience working with 11 – 16-year-olds within the last 2 years, and we must be able to obtain relevant references for this time. You should have a professional manner and a flexible attitude to working and timetable changes. Most importantly, you should be enthusiastic, engaging, and passionate about working with young people. Strong behaviour management and the ability to implement schools’ behaviour polices is also essential.

Job Description:

  • Delivering engaging and creative Science lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Supporting, advising, guiding, and supervising students throughout the school day.
  • Supporting Science classes in the absence of the timetabled staff/teacher.
  • Delivering the cover work established in the absence of the teacher.
  • To have a primary focus on maintaining good order and ensuring students are on task so that learning can take place.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
  • Recent experience teaching Science at secondary school level.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate that is registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one.

  • Strong behaviour/classroom management.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.

The role is being advertised on a temporary basis but with the potential for this to be a long-term placement for the right candidate. You will have your own timetable and deliver improvements and results for your own classes.

You will be paid a competitive daily wage, based on your experience and the responsibilities of this assignment, plus you will accrue holiday pay with the option to take it at any point of the year.
