School Premises Officer│Hastings│£24,000 - £26,000 pro rata│Full-Time Permanent

This school is seeking a reliable and experienced Premises Officer to join their team. As a Premises Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the school’s premises, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Premises Maintenance
  1. Ensure the school’s premises are clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
  2. Carry out daily checks on the premises, identifying and reporting any issues.
  3. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and repairing furniture.
Health and Safety
  1. Assist with ensuring the school’s compliance with health and safety regulations.
  2. Identify and report potential hazards and take steps to mitigate risks.
  3. Participate in health and safety training and drills.
Security
  1. Monitor the school premises, ensuring the security of students, staff, and visitors.
  2. Respond to security breaches or incidents, following school procedures.
  3. Control access to the school, including managing keys and access cards.
Collaboration
  1. Work closely with the school’s senior leadership team, teaching staff, and other support staff.
  2. Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and visitors.
  3. Provide support and assistance to other staff members as needed.

Requirements
  1. Experience in a similar role in a school or educational setting.
  2. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  3. Ability to perform manual tasks, such as lifting and carrying.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Reliability and punctuality.
