Are you an experienced payroll professional with excellent organisational skills? This school is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to oversee and manage the payroll processes, ensuring all staff are paid accurately and on time. This is a key role within our administrative team, helping to ensure smooth operations across the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and process the school’s payroll system with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Handle queries from staff regarding pay, deductions, and other payroll matters.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare statutory returns.
  • Calculate salaries, overtime, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Liaise with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll and employee data management.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and security of payroll information.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in payroll administration or management within a school setting.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Professional and discreet approach to handling sensitive information.
