Interim School Attendance Administrator Required in Lancaster - Start ASAP

We are supporting a vibrant and inclusive school in Lancaster, dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for its students, seek an engaging and proactive School Attendance Administrator to join the team on a temporary basis.
As a School Attendance Administrator, you will play a crucial role in promoting and ensuring regular school attendance. You will be responsible for monitoring student attendance, identifying patterns of absenteeism, and working closely with students, parents, staff and outside agencies to address attendance issues and any barriers to learning.
We are looking for someone for this temporary role ASAP on a full time basis, working 8am–4pm Monday to Friday. A DBS on the update service would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact parents/guardians regarding pupil lateness and absence, escalating where required
- Manage cases causing concern regarding school attendance, by means of correspondence, interviews and home visits.
- Contribute to the monitoring/analysis of attendance and persistent absence rates.
- Work collaboratively with students, parents, staff and outside agencies.
- Assist with tracking of pupils who do not arrive for admission or who go missing during the school year.
- Activate requests for penalty notices or other legal proceedings after discussion with school and court officers, preparing and attending hearings as required.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and prepare reports as required.
- Work in a multi-agency environment and multi-agency teams.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Ability to provide clear professional information to staff/parents/pupils regarding attendance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Knowledge of attendance policies and procedures is desirable.
