School Art Technician

School Art Technician │Hastings│£18000-£22000 pro rata │Full-Time Permanent

Are you a creative and practical individual with a passion for supporting the arts? This school is looking for a committed and resourceful Art Technician to ensure the smooth running of their vibrant art department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organise materials, tools, and equipment to support engaging and dynamic art lessons.
  • Maintain and manage inventory, including ordering and restocking art supplies.
  • Provide hands-on support to students during lessons, offering guidance on techniques and safe equipment use.
  • Set up and take down student artwork displays for exhibitions and school events.
  • Keep the art studios and workspaces clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
  • Support art teachers with administrative tasks, including record-keeping and resource management.

Key requirements
  • Strong knowledge of art materials, tools, and techniques.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively engage with students and staff.
  • A proactive, positive attitude, paired with a passion for art and education.
  • Familiarity with health and safety procedures relevant to creative environments.
