Location: Bilston, West Midlands Job Type:
Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Working Hours: 8:40 AM – 4:00 PM (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) | 8:40 AM – 4:40 PM (Wed)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Bilston is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where your organisational skills and attention to detail will make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage staff and pupil sickness records using SIMS (experience preferred but not essential)
  • Provide front office support, including answering calls, emails, and greeting visitors
  • Maintain accurate pupil records, attendance logs, and safeguarding documentation
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team and teaching staff with administrative tasks
  • Assist with photocopying, filing, and general office duties
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes
  • Help organise school events, trips, and parent communications
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies in a professional and confidential manner

What We’re Looking For Essential Skills & Qualities:
  • Previous experience in an administrative or school office role
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure, and use initiative
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • A warm, approachable manner and a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs

Desirable:
  • Experience in a school or SEN environment
  • Familiarity with SIMS or other school MIS systems
  • Understanding of safeguarding and GDPR
  • First Aid or other relevant training
