Their expertise spans various areas, including technical fire consultancy, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineering, sustainability engineering, passive fire protection, and health and safety consultancy. They excel in ensuring buildings comply with safety standards, conduct surveys for fire protection measures, and specialise in fire doors that meet safety requirements.

Your new role

As a BREEAM Assessor, you will play a crucial role in assessing and evaluating building designs and developments for their sustainability performance. Your primary responsibility will be to validate projects' compliance with applicable BREEAM criteria. Additionally, you'll facilitate the collection of evidence required to evaluate building projects or assets.
  • Assessment Process Management: You will oversee the assessment process, ensuring that it adheres to BREEAM guidelines. This involves validating evidence submitted by the design team and assessing compliance with relevant criteria. You'll gather evidence, write assessment reports, and assign accurate ratings to buildings based on their sustainability performance.
  • Client Liaison and Data Collection: You'll liaise with clients, collate information, and assess design data on various BREEAM and HQM (Home Quality Mark) projects. This includes managing multiple BREEAM projects from inception through to completion.
  • Sustainability Recommendations: As a BREEAM Assessor, you'll provide recommendations for achieving BREEAM ratings and help clients meet sustainability targets. This involves analysing building designs, energy audits, and operational energy efficiency.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You should be a qualified BREEAM Assessor, including knowledge of various BREEAM assessment types (e.g., New Construction, In-use, multi-residential, RFO) and their requirements.
  • Ideally, you'll have an educational background at the degree or master’s level in a relevant field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a BREEAM Assessor is desirable.
  • Familiarity with EPCs (Energy Performance Certificates), MEES (Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards), and other sustainability-related concepts is beneficial.
