Risk and Control Specialist, up to £625 p/d, initial 12-month contract, Belfast (hybrid)

We are working with a global financial institution to recruit a skilled and experienced Risk Business Analyst/Program Manager to join their team, focusing on global payments and movement of funds projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Financial Services/Investment Banking industry, with a proven track record in risk management and project execution. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Risk BA/PM support for global payments and movement of funds projects, focusing on identifying and documenting regional activities.
  • Identify in-scope applications for payment/movement of funds activities, evaluate control environments, and determine risk-based prioritization for uplift requirements/opportunities.
  • Perform root cause analysis of payment-related Operational Risk Events and resolve them through identified solutions, addressing any gaps.
  • Manage individual project responsibilities, including milestone setting, task and actions management, coordination, and execution within required timelines and stakeholder quality expectations.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with business and technology stakeholders, supporting engagement in working groups, steering committees, and workshops.
  • Ensure attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on factual analysis.

Essential Criteria
  • At least 6-10 years of experience as a Risk-focused Business Analyst/Program Manager within the Financial Services/Investment Banking industry.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various project parts.
  • Experience leading conference calls and producing meeting agendas, materials, and minutes.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and process mapping.

This role will be a hybrid role with 3 days in the office in Belfast. Although the role is initially for a 12-month period there is a high possibility of an extension.
