Regional Financial Controller job opportunity for a leading manufacturing business in Livingston

Our client, a leading international manufacturing business with an enviable customer portfolio, has a new job opportunity for a qualified accountant to join them as Regional Financial Controller.

Your new role

Reporting to the Regional Director and Financial Director, you will work closely with the senior management team to advise, analyse and report key business indicators, measures and financial information, using a variety of management tools to support decision-making and ensure strong, proactive governance and control of the business.

Your responsibilities will be varied and include:
  • Providing analysis and insight to support and challenge the business, to facilitate cost control and continual improvement in operational KPIs. Understanding and communicating where and how the business can create value, collaborating with site management and looking at ways to improve operational performance provide data and insight into key drivers around cost, productivity, and efficiency that will help to influence decision-making within the business. Get involved with site level analysis to understand performance and be involved with the business reporting cycle – month end, forecasting and budgeting, managing the cost modelling process.
  • Control of the Annual Investment Plan and completion of related investment profitability studies
  • Contribute fully in building the Strategic Plan of the Region.
  • Control and management of the costing system, ensuring alignment to P&L margin and EBITDA and there is ability to analyse margin and profitability accurately at a customer, route and item level
  • Work with FSSC to ensure co-ordination and continual improvement of transactional processes.
  • Maintain weekly control of costs and margin trackers as required
What you'll need to succeed
  • You will be a qualified accountant with previous experience of working in a similar role, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
  • A strong understanding of financial management and reporting, financial controls and processes, implementation and governance
  • Highly motivated, collaborative, innovative, confident, able to influence business stakeholders, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment (preferably manufacturing), able to adapt to change and to make quick decisions
  • You will be a proactive and results-driven self-starter whose personal qualities will include excellent communication and negotiation skills, project management and leadership skills.
