Your new role
As part of their commitment to excellence, they are seeking a Quality & Environmental Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring their products meet the highest quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to lead efforts in quality & environmental management and continuous improvement, while also mentoring and developing the quality technician team.
You will lead, develop, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) across the organisation and ensure that the product quality standards are market-leading. You will have expertise in ISO 9001, 14001, and ideally 45001 audits, with a proven ability to drive quality improvements.
The product quality will be optimised through shopfloor process improvements, supplier quality focus and also utilising reporting tools such as PowerBI, SAP, and Microsoft Dynamics to drive improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management System (QMS) Leadership:
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 QMS across all processes and departments.
- Conduct and manage internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are identified and implemented for any quality issues or non-conformities.
- Create and maintain quality documentation and reports, presenting them to senior leadership for review and strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate and identify shopfloor process improvements.
- Conduct regular product audits to establish adherence to processes.
- Resolve customer feedback on quality concerns efficiently and effectively. Following root cause analysis for strategic improvements.
- Oversee and manage supplier quality performance, including evaluating and auditing suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and implementing improvement plans where necessary.
- Develop and maintain metrics to track supplier quality performance, working collaboratively with suppliers to address any issues and drive improvements.
- Utilize SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, and PowerBI reporting tools to gather, analyze, and interpret quality data to drive decision-making and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement quality reports and dashboards, providing key insights to senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Leverage data to drive process improvements, reduce variation, and enhance product and service quality across the business.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with other departments (production, engineering, supply chain, etc.) to identify and implement process improvements that improve overall product quality and operational efficiency.
- Regularly assess quality processes and systems to identify opportunities for optimisation and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations in line with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
- Manage the quality assurance processes to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
- ISO Auditing Expertise: Proven experience in managing and auditing ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 systems, with a deep understanding of quality management principles.
- Product Quality Focus: Experience in establishing Product Quality excellence within a fast-moving environment.
- SAP Experience: Experience using SAP for data management, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
- PowerBI & Microsoft Dynamics: Proficient in using PowerBI and Microsoft Dynamics for developing reporting dashboards, data analysis, and driving quality improvements.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong ability to identify root causes of issues, use data to drive solutions, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, presenting complex information clearly and concisely.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of quality, health, safety, and environmental standards within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Organisational Skills: Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment is desirable, not essential.
- Familiarity with additional quality management software and tools is desirable, not essential.
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is desirable, not essential.
