Multiple Pump Engineers are needed across the midlands on a freelance basis.

Job Description: Pumpstation Field Engineers
Location: Midlands
Position: Pumpstation Field Engineers (Multiple Positions)
Day Rate: Negotiable

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Commissioning:
    Install and commission both private and adoptable pumping stations to meet relevant Water Authority specifications.
  • Site Surveys:
    Conduct site surveys at customer locations, providing detailed reports to assist in preparing proposals for refurbishments.
  • Fault Finding and Maintenance:
    Attend customer sites to perform fault-finding, installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of industrial pumping stations and equipment.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure installation, repair, and testing of pump and control equipment comply with company and manufacturer standards.
  • Servicing:
    Service and maintain pumping stations.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Identify and rectify faults efficiently.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Safety:
    Adhere to a strict safety policy, ensuring safe working practices at all times. Produce robust risk assessments and method statements to comply with all site-specific OH&S requirements.
  • Professionalism:
    Work diligently and professionally, with a focus on meeting customer expectations and providing outstanding customer service.

Essential Criteria:
  • Preferred Knowledge:
    • HNC Electro/Mechanical Engineering or VQ Level 3 technical qualification.
    • 18th Edition or equivalent qualification.
    • Confined space certification.
    • CSCS card.
    • Health and Safety awareness with the ability to carry out risk assessments.
    • Extensive experience in installations, fault-finding, testing, and repair of pumps and a range of controls.

  • Preferred Skills:
    • Self-motivated and dynamic individual.
    • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build good customer relationships.
    • Strong planning and reporting skills.
    • Ability to work in the field.
    • Full driving licence.
    • Good knowledge of working with wiring schematics.
    • The ability to use your own initiative.
    • Teamwork and adherence to core values.
    • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
    • Flexible working hours (overtime).
    • Willingness to stay overnight when required.
    • Understanding of pumping systems (desirable but not essential).
