Opportunity to join a thriving global leader in an exciting new Procurement team leadership role - hybrid role

Your new company
A £multi-million global manufacturing leader in North Manchester is seeking a driven, ambitious and experienced people leader to join their successful team. Due to promotions, this has created a new opportunity within the structure to join the team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
The Procurement Support Team has a responsibility for providing day-to-day support to the wider procurement department, so they are involved with everything from updating the SAP system with the latest procurement data, setting up suppliers on the system, dealing with invoice queries and providing external market data to stakeholders. This team is also responsible for evaluating and presenting purchasing data ready for tendering, as well as managing any routine price requests.

As the Procurement Support Team Leader, you will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of this team, which currently comprises 6 members split across 2 sites. In this leadership role, you will be the point of escalation for any queries that may arise, and you will ultimately have accountability for the team's support service to the wider Procurement team. This will entail setting and monitoring KPIs which align with the company's Purchasing and Procurement objectives, as well as managing the performance and development of each of your colleagues, including training, personal development plans and day-to-day support. You will work closely with internal Procurement stakeholders to ensure that you and your team are providing a top-level support service and identify any potential areas for continuous improvement to the service. In instances of absence within the team, you will also roll your sleeves up and help out with the operational support to your procurement colleagues.

Because this role is managing a team split between 2 sites, there will be opportunities to travel to mainland Europe.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience of managing and leading a team within a similar environment

  • Ideally, you will have experience of working within a Procurement environment
  • Excellent level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly numerate and analytical
  • Willingness to travel to mainland Europe from time-to-time

What you'll get in return
  • A competitive starting salary between £35,000–40,000 (depending on experience)
  • Travel opportunities
  • Hybrid working pattern with 50% of your time in the office, 50% from home
  • Private pension scheme

  • Additional days off rewarded for full attendance
  • Private healthcare with AXA
  • Life insurance of 3x salary
