Procurement Manager - Indirect - Swindon - £45k + £4k car allowance + 20% bonus

Your new company

You'll be joining a well known, high-street retailer who has been operating for over 100 years across a variety of mediums. You'll be joining the Group Procurement Function in their GNFR (goods not for resale) team who focus on indirect procurements globally.

Your new role

You'll aim to deliver cost-saving initiatives, implement group-level sourcing strategies and provide category expertise across the business when consulting internal stakeholders. At a time of change for the business, it's critical that you help to support Group Procurement, ensuring that high standards are delivered by effective consulting, influencing suppliers and stakeholders and upholding procurement strategy.

Key responsibilities

  • Help to rationalise the existing supplier base through strategic sourcing and category planning
  • Strategically and tactically managing categories to integrate the EMEA market
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and budget holders to ensure goals and targets are clearly understood and achieved through effective procurement.
  • Overseeing the complete tender process (RFI/RFP), incorporating stakeholders' business requirements/specifications and relevant KPIs and SLAs.
  • Manage contractual reviews, re-tenders and negotiations
  • Facilitating agile procurement of small capital items within tight deadlines.
  • Contributing to cost reduction, risk mitigation, and control of annual category spend.
  • Providing commercial, contractual, and negotiation support at the category level to stakeholders across the Group.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Generalist procurement experience across a variety of indirect categories (3-5 years)
  • Deep understanding of the procurement lifecycle
  • Confident supplier and stakeholder management skills
  • Negotiation and commercial management acumen
  • CIPS qualifications are desirable, but not essential
  • MS Office & ERP capability
