Procurement Manager, Head of Procurement & Supply Chain

An opportunity to lead the Procurement and Supply Chain function of this highly successful and growing business based in North Cambridgeshire. Reporting into the MD, this role will take ownership for all procurement spend on a local basis and manage a small cross-functional team. With full autonomy available, this role will be an integral part of the SLT and have a strong contribution to the ongoing success of this company.

The role will take personal responsibility for all local spend across a wide range of direct and indirect expenditure with the opportunity to influence wider group activity and strategy. Key areas of focus will pertain to: supporting business planning activity; develop and embed the local procurement strategy; providing procurement expertise to internal stakeholder and driving relevant procurement activity from end to end; drive supplier performance and innovation; ensure best practice in inventory management; and lead and develop a small team of logistics and supply chain professionals to ensure key metrics are achieved.

Demonstrable procurement experience is required with a track-record of applying procurement skill set across a varied spend profile. With strong influencing and relationship building skills, you will be able to demonstrate how these have been applied and successes achieved both from a business partner perspective with key internal stakeholders and equally with driving strategic partnerships with suppliers. A self-motivated and positive approach to work is a pre-requisite with a strong customer focus required. Working in a fast-moving environment you will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, and you will have strong leadership skills.
