Your new company
Working for one of the largest and most successful distribution companies of its kind in the UK, this business is a globally renowned wholesaler with an excellent reputation, and they are on the lookout for an indirect procurement specialist to join them and help deliver cost savings and drive value for money within their indirect spend. Based in Salford, they are easily accessible by car or by public transport due to great surrounding transport links.

Your new role
The Indirect Procurement Manager / Senior Buyer will be responsible for the indirect spend within the company, ranging from anything from utilities contracts, to technology spend, right through to stationery and teabags! The role is a new position within the company structure, so there will be lots of opportunities for you to identify 'quick wins' for immediate cost savings and help to deliver better value for money. The business sources from all over the world currently and they are in the process of formalising and centralising company expenditure, so it's a crucial time to be joining the company. This business has sites and distribution centres all around the UK, so you will be liaising with stakeholders around the country to ensure a smooth and efficient process, but one which is streamlined and cost-effective. The Procurement Manager will need to effectively manage and liaise with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally, which will involve strategic negotiations, so you will need to be a confident communicator with good influencing skills.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience in a similar role such as a Senior Buyer, Procurement Manager, Category Manager etc
  • Previous track record of delivering cost savings within indirect spend in the private sector
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
