Exciting Job Opportunity: Procurement and Supply Chain Manager - up to £60K with hybrid working

Are you ready to take the helm in a dynamic and thriving engineering technology business? My client is seeking an exceptional Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to join their team. This pivotal role will be based in either Preston or Cumbria, where you’ll play a crucial part in shaping the future success and growth of the company.

The business is a highly successful company at the forefront of innovation in engineering technology. They are looking for a talented individual to lead their procurement and supply chain function, managing at least 1 Buyer within the team.

Role Overview:
As Procurement and Supply Chain Manager, you’ll be the linchpin connecting the business with the materials, equipment, and services they require. Your impact will be felt across the organisation as you:
  1. Forge Strong Supplier Relationships:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for key suppliers, nurturing long-term partnerships that drive mutual benefits.
    • Manage price negotiations, ensuring favourable terms for the business.
  2. Navigate the Procurement Process:
    • Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from tendering to contract management.
    • Champion best practices, ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations.
    • Keep meticulous records and documentation.
  3. Optimise Costs and Efficiency:
    • Implement strategies to reduce costs and enhance efficiency within the company's supply chain.
    • Drive continuous improvement, making processes leaner and more effective.
  4. Risk Management:
    • Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, safeguarding the company's operations.
    • Stay ahead of potential challenges and proactively address them.

What you will need to succeed in this role:
  • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, gained within either a manufacturing, engineering or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with public procurement regulations / working within a regulated procurement environment, such as nuclear or pharmaceutical.
  • Strong negotiation skills and relationship-building abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with an eye for cost optimisation.
  • Resilience in managing risks and adapting to changing circumstances.
