Your new role

This is a unique opportunity for excellent career development within the Construction Consultancy industry, as a PPP Consultant.
Our client is highly regarded as a leading Technical Advisor in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) market across the UK and Ireland. PPP projects typically involve the design, construction, financing, and operation of significant social infrastructure initiatives. These arrangements are characterised by a long-term collaboration between the public and private sectors, covering both ongoing Facilities Management services and Lifecycle replacement costs.
Our client offers advisory services to the Lenders of these complex transactions, through the period leading up to contract execution, throughout construction, and through the term of services.

Duties involved in the role will include, but are not limited to:
  • Learning and understanding the contract structures in PPP transactions
  • Gain knowledge of risk transfer mechanisms
  • Perform regular site inspections for projects under construction and assess / value works completed in order to approve drawdown from loan(s)
  • Creating regular reports for project lenders, addressing all technical aspects of the project.
  • Reviewing Lifecycle cost models and advising on adequacy of budgets
  • Conducting regular visits to operational sites throughout the year and evaluating whether the facilities are being properly maintained by the relevant parties.
  • Ad hoc advice around Lifecycle cost estimates and Facilities Management


What you'll need to succeed

This role would be suitable for candidates coming from either a Quantity Surveying or Building Surveying background. A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or another relevant discipline is essential.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the construction industry, preferably within a consultancy environment.
This opportunity will offer the opportunity to learn and understand matters related to Public Private Partnerships, and also advising lenders. Therefore, a proactive, can-do attitude is a must, with the drive to learn and engage in new roles.

Other desirable criteria include:
  • Knowledge of building contracts
  • Expertise in cost consultancy
  • Demonstrated success in managing commercial cost consultancy projects from inception to completion
  • Proven experience working on large-scale projects
  • Skilled in cultivating client relationships and actively networking to drive business development
