Mechanical Small Works Manager required in the Midlands

Title: Mechanical Small Works Manager
Location: Leicester
Rate: Circa £30 per hour
Contract: Temporary/Contract/Freelance
Start Date: ASAP

Are you a mechanical maestro with a knack for managing small-value projects? We're on the hunt for a dynamic Mechanical Small Works Manager to oversee a variety of mechanical projects ranging from £5k to £250k. This includes refurbishments, maintenance upgrades, reactive works, and minor installations.

Your Role:
  • Take charge of projects from start to finish, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely.
  • Manage mechanical work like HVAC, plumbing, pipework, and refurbishments.
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Prepare scopes, quotations, schedules, and method statements.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support and resolve site issues.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience in mechanical contracting, ideally in a similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and general building services.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Commercial awareness and confidence in quoting works.
  • Preferred qualifications: SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, or relevant H&S certifications.
  • Mechanical qualifications (NVQ Plumbing and Heating, Gas Safe).
