SEN Maths Teacher – Maternity Cover

Are you a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher looking to make a real impact on the lives of young learners? Do you have experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) students within an Alternative Provision or PRU setting? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

About the Role
Hays Education is delighted to be supporting a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in recruiting an SEN Maths Teacher to cover a maternity leave position. This rewarding role will see you working with KS3 & KS4 students who require a tailored approach to education, helping them develop essential numeracy skills while building confidence in their learning.

Key Responsibilities
✔ Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to students with SEN and SEMH needs ✔ Plan and adapt lessons to suit individual student requirements ✔ Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving their full potential ✔ Work collaboratively with support staff and external agencies to create a positive learning environment ✔ Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to pupils, staff, and parents

Requirements
✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) ✅ Experience teaching Maths within a PRU, Alternative Provision, or SEN setting ✅ Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners with complex needs ✅ An understanding of behaviour management strategies tailored to SEMH students ✅ A proactive, compassionate, and resilient approach to teaching
