IT Category Manager FTC 12 months

The Procurement team for this organisation is seeking an IT Category Manager. This individual will be responsible for managing and implementing the UK & Ireland (UK&I) Procurement strategy within the agreed scope, utilising Category Management Processes. The role involves generating increased efficiency, ensuring compliance with FCA/PRA requirements, reducing costs, and adhering to best practices. This position offers a great opportunity to contribute to and develop business functions, ensuring supplier relationships comply with FCA/PRA standards and mitigating business risks.


Your new role


  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and challenge business requirements, maintaining relationships and achieving optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Lead the delivery of processes or initiatives to establish best-in-class policies, processes, or services.
  • Develop and implement Category Strategy when not supported by a Global Category Manager.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with service, performance, quality, and delivery standards, while mitigating risks with suppliers.
  • Understand and optimise budget definitions and compliance with Finance and business budget owners.
  • Use Procurement tools and best practices to enhance efficiency, delivery quality, and achieve savings and KPI objectives.


What you'll need to succeed


  • Recent experience of supporting IT initiatives including software, unified comms, SaaS, Digital Data and Cloud Migration.
  • You’ll be a team player, who’s focussed on ensuring the success and respect of the procurement team across the different functions.
  • You’ll have supported the broader range of indirect categories.
  • Demonstrate end-to-end Procurement experience and working knowledge
