Intermediate Electrical Engineer job, Salary up to £45K
Your new company
You'll be working for a successful and well stablished consultancy based in Edinburgh, who are looking for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their Building Services team. This consultancy works on a variety of projects across Scotland's Central Belt as well as UK wide, operating across almost every sector, including commercial, residential, Industrial, education and more.
Your new role
- You will be starting as an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, joining an already well-established team.
- You will be given exposure to a number of New build and refurbishment projects on commercial, residential and emergency services buildings across Glasgow and Edinburgh.
- You will have the opportunity to lead more junior engineers, assisting their development and ensuring the quality of their work.
- You will be supported by a team of creative and experienced engineers.
- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems .
- Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
- Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Amtech, CAD, Revit, etc.
- Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
- Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
- Developing report and technical note writing.
- Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
- Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Electrical design engineering on Building Services projects.
- Strong knowledge of Electrical systems and building codes.
- Excellent communication and business development skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
