Interim Head of Property, 6-month contract - starting June, Up to £650 per day inside IR35

Your new company

We are working with a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation seeking an Interim Head of Property to lead their property and capital projects function during a critical period of delivery and transition.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a seasoned property professional with a strong background in property asset management and capital project delivery. You’ll be stepping into a well-established team and taking over from the current postholder, with a brief handover planned.

Your new role

As the Interim Head of Property, you'll be providing strategic direction and leadership for both asset management and development, leading on a range of high-profile regeneration-linked projects.


Key responsibilities will include:
• Lead and manage a high-performing yet small team consisting of qualified surveyors and capital project managers.
• Oversee delivery of key property and regeneration projects, including:
• Towns Fund and regeneration-linked schemes
• Infill and town centre development sites
• Education capital programmes (primary and secondary schools)
• Provide strategic oversight and practical input into a leisure development project, assessing options for development, disposal, or demolition.
• Mentor and support the team, ensuring high-quality delivery with minimal oversight.
• Contribute to a potential departmental restructure and the recruitment of a permanent Head of Property.

What you'll need to succeed

As the Interim Head of Property you will be/have:

• RICS qualified
• Proven experience in property asset management and capital project delivery
• Have strong communication skills and be able to report to senior leadership
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to shape and guide a small, busy team.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on capacity within a high-demand environment.
• Able to hit the ground running and provide immediate value.

What you'll get in return

Day Rate: £650 per day (Inside IR35)
• Duration: 6 months, with potential to extend
• Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days in office), 4-day week considered
• Start Date: Ideally by 13th June for handover
