A broad HR Manager opportunity in Oxford covering both HR operations and strategic HR

Your new company
You will be joining a growing organisation in Oxford who currently have circa 70 employees based across the UK and Europe. The business is in a strong place and plans to grow its headcount in the future too. To support the ongoing evolution of the business, the HR Manager role will join the established function and will continue to drive strategic matters and also help develop the HR Administrator who supports with the day-to-day running of HR Operations.

Your new role
This is a varied HR role that spans both HR operations and strategy with plenty of opportunity to lead on HR projects and suggest improvements and change ideas that will positively impact employee experience, performance and effectiveness. You will work closely with directors and senior stakeholders to promote conversations and plans for talent development, use and develop HRMI metrics to assist with decision-making and ensure a positive workplace culture remains. Using your wealth of HR operations experience, you will oversee the smooth running of the day-to-day HR service, ensuring employees and managers can access HR expertise when required and that excellent customer service is recieved. As the manager of the HR function, you will also manage the HR Administrator and develop their knowledge and capabilities within HR and will have responsibility for the HR budget.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a HR professional who has gained solid experience in HR operations. You will have recent and up-to-date working knowledge of UK legislation and best practice within the profession across the employee lifecycle, recruitment and retention, talent development and HR systems. Ideally, you will be CIPD level 5 qualified, although our client is open to considering those without the qualification who can demonstrate they have the experience to do the role. Previous experience of line management is not essential, but a willingness to develop managerial skills if stepping into management for the first time is essential.
