Head of Finance - Stonehouse - Growing technology business

My client is an SME technology business based in Stonehouse, they are going through a continued period of growth and as such are looking to bring in a Head of Finance, reporting directly into the MD, working alongside the senior management team.


Role Purpose:


The Head of Finance will provide control, analysis and general financial oversight over the activities of the company. The position will also provide support on financial modelling of new sales opportunities. The successful applicant will provide the necessary oversight in order to assist the company in meeting its financial targets and growth ambitions. This will be achieved through the adherence to strong controls and MI and regular interaction with key stakeholders within the company.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


  • Ownership of the company’s month end, including the creation of the monthly board pack and sales reporting.
  • Ownership of budget and forecasting processes
  • Liaison with key stakeholders in order to create and manage sales forecasts and waterfall.
  • Day to day management and development of finance team
  • Management of company cashflow, FX and investment management
  • Liaising with external accountants to complete statutory accounts including R&D
  • Ownership of Payroll and HR and associated reporting
  • Develop and maintain systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management.
  • HMRC returns/payments – VAT, CT, CT61, PAYE, CIS
  • Netsuite ERP superuser
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by Managing Director.


Critical knowledge and expertise


  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Previous proven management experience
  • Resilience, determination and self-motivation
  • Experience of working in a team environment
  • Excellent knowledge of MS word, excel and outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/ interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A desire to grow and develop new skills
  • Experience with Oracle Netsuite ERP
