Financial Services Audit Manager - Top 25 Chartered Accountants - City of London

Your new company is an award-winning Top 25 Chartered Accountants based in London City. This firm provides many different services to its clients including audit & assurance, accounting & outsourcing and transaction advisory services, this firm works with companies from a variety of sectors including financial services, media, technology and not-for-profit to name a few. This firm is Partner-led and is looking to onboard new team members into the office in London, they focus on personal and professional growth of all employees and the growth of the firm.

This Top 25 firm is looking for a financial services Audit Manager to join their growing team in London.


Your new role

As a financial services Audit Manager, your new clients will mainly be fund managers (hedge and private equity), sub advisors, corporate finance companies, remuneration advisors and brokers. Below are some of the duties and responsibilities of your new role:

  • Audit: statutory and CASS audit, planning, completion, attend / lead client meetings etc.
  • Being a key point of contact throughout the year
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients as well as prospective clients
  • Accounts preparation
  • Provision of general business advice to clients
  • Managing the overall service delivery to clients
  • Client billing and job recoverability
  • Prospective client meetings
  • Assist in supervising/managing the audit staff including having a responsibility for the coaching and development of the team members reporting directly into you taking responsibility for career development of others
  • Business development activities such as building relationships with target clients and referrers in the Financial Services sector
  • Assist where required in the general running of the audit department
  • Reporting directly to the partner and having several direct team members report to you.


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, ideally the firm is looking for a qualified Auditor (ACA/ACCA/equivalent) with recent experience working within the financial services sector. Below are some of the other key skills and attributes that this firm is looking for:

  • Recent audit experience within a UK Chartered Accountants
  • Experience reviewing audit work and experience handling your own portfolio of clients
  • Management of a team, including appraisals, coaching, mentoring and more
  • Good working knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards and IFRS experience
  • Ideally, you will have strong software skills, including the Microsoft packages and CaseWare.
  • Strong communication skills
