Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be recruiting a Finance Director to join a prestigious organisation based in the Teesside region. This organisation has just undergone a period of substantial growth and are looking to make this business a critical appointment for the next stage of their development.

Your new role
In this role you will be reporting directly to the senior leadership team and be responsible for the finance functions for the UK branches.

Main Responsibilities include;
  • Develop and execute financial strategies, plans, procedures and systems to support business objectives and drive sustainable growth.
  • Oversee all aspects of the finance function including maximising working capital, managing cash flows, debt, investments, capital expenditures and forecasting to maintain organisation's financial health and support the growth ambitions in a controlled way with appropriate risk management.
  • Work with the Financial Controller to ensure a disciplined and efficient month-end process which results in the production of accurate and timely MI/KPI’s for the business.
  • Oversee submission of statutory accounts.
  • Supervise production of the monthly Group consolidated accounts.
  • Report to monthly Group board meetings on the financial performance of the group companies. Coordinate production of the Board pack.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, manage audits, implement risk management systems and stay updated on regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, legal, HMRC and financial institutions.
  • Lead financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Business partnering across all areas of the business ensuring investments deliver sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Lead financial activity for any associated ventures.
  • Mentor and develop finance and IT team members to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement to systems, processes and procedures to improve automation and efficiency.
What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this experience, you will need to be a qualified accountant with demonstrable experience in a similar role. This should include times when you have improved processes and improvements, have a commercial approach to your work as well as having strong IT skills. You will need to be a strong influencer and possess great communication skills, both written and verbal.
