New Finance Analyst role available in South Norfolk

Your new company

Hays are working in partnership with a highly successful AIM listed business in search of an experienced Finance Analyst to join their team. This organisation has been rapidly expanding for several years and has successfully expanded its operations internationally. They are a market leader in their industry and are seeking an industrious and ambitious Finance Analyst to join their existing finance function.


Your new role

This role will form part of the acquisitions team and will support the acquisition process by analysing the financial performance of target businesses, evaluating the risk and rewards and preparing valuations and insight for leadership. You will work in tandem with senior leadership and external stakeholders to support through the full acquisition process. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting analysis of potential target businesses, including financial information, operational and market data.
  • Produce financial forecasting, sensitivity analysis and prepare business valuation analysis
  • Perform financial forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and prepare business valuation models to determine acquisition values, returns & risks.
  • Presenting key financial information & recommendations (e.g. on pricing, deal structure & terms) to senior leadership, and contribute to decision-making
  • Preparation of presentations & proposals, including board presentations and management reports
  • Support senior leadership present proposals to key internal stakeholders
  • Review and evaluate reports, including financial and legal due diligence reports. Including liaising with external advisors
  • Conducting thorough analysis of market data, including calculating and monitoring of market shares
  • Assist in the compilation of target lists, including monitoring merger and acquisition activity in the industry and market changes that could impact acquisition opportunities.
  • Monitor and track the performance of existing acquisitions, in the context of post-investment appraisal analysis and ensuring targets are met for deferred consideration payments
  • Monitor deal pipeline, & support senior management with deal project management
  • Develop and maintain databases of financial models, historical transaction data, acquisition performance metrics, etc.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the wider Acquisition team, wider Finance team, Tax, Legal and Operations to ensure smooth execution of acquisition strategies & seamless on-boarding of acquisitions (nb. not responsible for integration of acquired businesses)
  • Be involved in supporting continuous process improvement and helping to mitigate risks and manage audit requests

This is a full-time role, working 4 hours a week between Monday and Friday, and they also operate flexible and hybrid working models.

What you'll need to succeed

You will either be part or fully qualified accountant and have prior experience in a similar commercially focused or analytical finance capacity. Exposure to M&A would be highly advantageous. You will have strong financial modelling, forecasting and Excel skills and be competent in manipulating large volumes of data. You will have exceptional communication and organisational skills and be highly organised.
