Electrician - Social Housing - Covering East Dorset - Hub in Wimborne - £41056 + Benefits
Your new company
You will be working for a housing association supporting the tenants across east Dorset based from their hub in Wimborne Dorset.
Your new role
We are looking for an electrician to carry out electrical installations in a domestic dwelling to support the electrical team. Your work is scheduled in for you and jobs are shared with you via an electronic handheld device (your PDA) so you’ll be comfortable using technology and IT systems.
You’ll work alone primarily, so you’ll be confident working to your own initiative, but you will get plenty of support from our regional supervisors. The team gets together for team meetings, and you’ll attend toolbox talks for regular training and company updates.
You’ll be given a company vehicle to get around our communities, so you’ll need a full UK driving licence. You could be in various locations in one day so there’s plenty of opportunity to take in your surroundings and get to know the wider region.
You will undertake electrical repair, maintenance and installations work in strict accordance with current I.E.E. wiring regulations, including (Part P).
Works include but are not limited to:
- Fault Finding on single & three phase installations
- Testing & Inspection
- Portable Appliance Testing
- Completion of electrical installation certificates including minor works
- Carryout electrical installation condition reports
- Shower replacement / installation
- Wiring Domestic Heating controls
- Immersion element replacement including draining down of Cylinder
- Electric Heating replacement / new installation
- You will be an experienced qualified electrician who holds there (2330 Essential) (2382 Essential) (2391 Desirable) or equivalent.
- You will be experienced in installation and have an ability to diagnose and undertake repair works to domestic properties including specifying materials required and the ability to undertake works in accordance with training and good industry practice.
- Competent in the use of smart phone technology and PDAs, including the ability to send and receive email, calendar appointments, documents, photographs and for work scheduling purposes.
- Undertake ongoing training as required
