Electrical Supervisor - Outside IR35 Contract

Job Title: Electrical Supervisor
Location: Cheshire
Job Type: Freelance contract, outside IR35

About the Role: A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor/Inspector to oversee electrical commissioning and inspection for a major Energy from Waste project in Cheshire. This role is strictly supervisory—no hands-on electrical work involved. The successful candidate will focus on quality assurance, health & safety compliance, and progress monitoring, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise contractor activities and ensure compliance with quality, health & safety regulations.
  • Oversee electrical commissioning and inspection processes.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring all work aligns with timelines and expectations.
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Provide regular reports on project status and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Electrical qualifications (HNC/HND preferred).
  • Recognized Health & Safety certification (preferred).
  • First Aid at Work & Fire Marshal certificate (advantageous).
Experience:
  • HV work, utilities, general electrical background.
  • A solid track record in similar projects (battery, solar, wind energy, etc.).
  • Prior experience with Energy from Waste projects.
Project Terms & Compensation:
  • Contract Length: 12 months, potential for renewal.
  • Day Rate: Up to £500 per day.
  • Accommodation: Hotels can be factored into rates, but local candidates are preferred. Digs can be discussed.
  • Working Schedule: 5 days per week (if possible).
  • Start Date: ASAP (ideally within 3-4 weeks).
