Your new role

Southend Council are looking to appoint a full-time, Domestic Abuse & Reducing Parental Conflict Coordinator in fixed term capacity until March 2025.
The post holder will be required to support in the delivery of the domestic abuse strategy and the local authority duties under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, alongside supporting the delivery of training for reducing parental conflict.
They will be required to support contract management of domestic abuse contracts, including contract monitoring and collating, as well as managing purchase orders and invoices. They will need to minute meetings and support in implementing improvements to domestic abuse support services in Southend.

Another part of the post is reducing parental conflict, which will involve the post holder being the point of contact for practitioners and organisations. They will develop an authority-wide approach to reducing the impact of interparental conflict on children and young people, as part of the whole family approach. They will manage and oversee the delivery of the RPC programme, which involves liaising with relevant departments/agencies to raise awareness of new training programmes.

This position is a hybrid post, but you will be required to be on site a minimum of 2 days a week.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this position, you are required to have an advanced administration background, with experience of local authorities or private social care sectors. Understanding of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 or parental conflict experience would be beneficial but not essential.
You need to be a proactive team player that knows how to prioritise, can meet tight deadlines and is strong in your decision-making.
You must have a good standard of education with excellent verbal and written skills, be IT literature and be able to work with finances.
