Hays is proud to be partnering with a local council to recruit a Destination Park Operations Lead — a pivotal role responsible for the commercial development and operational leadership of the city’s flagship parks and green spaces.

About the Role

As the Destination Park Operations Lead, you will drive the strategic and commercial direction of Birmingham’s Destination Parks. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of public green spaces, ensuring they are financially sustainable, operationally excellent, and welcoming to all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set the strategic direction for the development and management of a blended financial model for Destination Parks.
  • Develop business plans to support commercial growth, including leading external funding bids and income-generating projects.
  • Oversee all operational management activities, ensuring high standards and full compliance with health, safety, and financial regulations.
  • Lead budget forecasting and monitoring, reviewing and confirming budgets and project delivery performance.

  • Proven experience in parks, public space, or leisure operations management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of developing business plans and securing funding.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
