Your new role

To support the Data Protection Officer within the data protection functions and the organisation’s core activities, provide administrative support, advice and information, primarily on data protection and access to information activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing and facilitating the completion of data protection and access to information queries or concerns, including subject access requests and access to information requests, in preparation for sign-off by the Data Protection Officer.
  • In conjunction with the Data Protection Officer, seeking legal or other professional advice on matters relating to Data Protection or Access to Information as required.
  • In conjunction with the Data Protection Officer, undertaking and supporting the delivery of investigations into legal or regulatory breaches relating to data protection or access to information, ensuring that outcomes are reported appropriately and in line with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Advising and supporting colleagues across the organisation to ensure the organisation acts appropriately and compliantly in identifying and managing risks associated with the sharing of personal data with third parties and partner organisations.
  • Undertaking all aspects of administration required to support the Data Protection and Access to Information functions.
  • Liaising with tenants and other data subjects on queries or concerns relating to data protection or access to information requests.
  • Supporting and advising on the implementation of data subject rights, including the Right to Rectification, Right to Deletion, Right to Erasure, Right to Restrict Processing, Right to Data Portability, Right to Object, and the Right to prevent automated decision-making and profiling, in line with agreed policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a data protection or compliance role, preferably within the housing sector.
  • Data protection knowledge and subject access request knowledge (ESSENTIAL).
  • Strong understanding of GDPR and other relevant data protection laws.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong administrative skills.
