Your new role
My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced technical Cyber Security Lead to join the existing IT team in Liverpool. The Cyber Security Lead will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the organisations information security program, including the management of an outsourced Security Operations Centre (SOC). You will be responsible for establishing the security strategy for the group and improving security posture while ensuring alignment of technical security measures with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate new security technologies and solutions to enhance the organisation's security posture.
• Ensure proper configuration and tuning of security tools to maximise effectiveness.
• Incident Response and forensics – developing and maintaining an incident response plan.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior members of the security team.
• Promote cross functional collaboration and knowledge sharing across security and IT teams.
• Maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM and endpoint security solutions.
• Setting the overall security strategy for the business.


Skills & Experience

• The Ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security and hands-on experience with SOC operations.
• Experience developing and implementing technical aspects of the organization’s information security strategy.
• Experience overseeing day-to-day operations of the outsourced SOC team.
• Define and enforce SOC processes and procedures to ensure effective incident detection, response, and remediation.
• Experience Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to address security incidents and vulnerabilities.
• Experience Conducting regular threat assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential risks to the organisation's infrastructure and data.
• Experience working in alignment with ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials.
• Experience Managing and maintaining security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and endpoint security solutions.
